Serves | 3-4 |
Ingredients
- 6-8 slices bread (approx. ½ loaf)
- 3 eggs
- ¾ cup milk
- 1-2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp butter, melted
- Fresh fruit
- Maple syrup
Toppings
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Method
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Lightly grease an Albany Baking Dish.
Step 2
Slice the bread using a sharp knife into cubes and place in the baking dish.
Step 3
In a large salt&pepper mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon and mix using a Tool Spoon until well combined.
Step 4
Pour the egg mixture over the bread and press down using a Tool Spatula so it absorbs into the bread. Cover and refrigerate for a minimum of 15 minutes.
Step 5
Prepare the topping by mixing the sugar and cinnamon together in a small salt&pepper bowl. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar over the French toast and drizzle with melted butter.
Step 6
Bake for 30 minutes or until the eggs are set and the top is golden and crispy (cover your baking dish with foil if the top begins to brown too much).
Step 7
Top with fresh fruit and maple syrup and serve directly onto tablescape. Serve the French Toast Casserole directly into Hostess Plates & Bowls.
